The General Directorate of Taxes informs the general public and economic operators subject to the Value Added Tax, in particular, that the Government of the Republic has decided on the suspension, for a period of three months starting at Dated 30 November 2016, of the collection of the Value Added Tax (VAT) in the internal market and the importation of certain basic necessities, listed in the Annex.
To this end, importers, wholesalers, semi-wholesalers and retailers involved in the sale of these basic necessities are invited not to invoice VAT at the time of sale.
