RELEASE OF POLITICAL PRISONERS

RELEASE DATED 22 AOUT 2016 IN CONNECTION WITH THE RELEASE OF POLITICAL PRISONERS AND MEASURES TAKEN OPINIONS ON FRIDAY, 19 AOUT 2016 BY THE GOVERNMENT

he Movement for Renewal, MR, acronym, followed with close attention the recent decisions of the Government for the easing of the political climate.

The MR recalls that among the claims included in its terms of reference submitted to the Head of State during the national consultations, he insisted, among other things, the release of media close to the political opposition.

The MR notes that even if the action taken by the government Friday, August 19, 2016 is a good start, much remains to be done in particular, the release of opposition figures like Eugene Diomi Ndongala, the Bar Muyambo.

The MR urges the Government to go through this process to give every chance to the inclusive national dialogue.

However, the MR continues to express its commitment to the principles of dialogue from the 2277 Resolution and believes that this is the way obliged to save the electoral process in strict compliance with the Constitution.

Moreover, the MR encourages all Members of the Opposition to favor the public interest, by smoothing their differences, guarantee of the unity of the opposition so desired by our people.
