The Congolese Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS)

The Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS), a political party dear to the late President Etienne Tshisekedi wa Mulumba, brought together its activists from all over the capital to celebrate Wednesday, 20 September 2017 a year since the disappearance of its militants, in the night of 19 to 20 September 2017, to the permanence of Limete. On occasion, ETENI LONGONDO, UDPS Acting Secretary General, reiterated the position of the party, thus refuting any idea of any third dialogue with the current government. He also explained the nature of the departure of Felix Tshisekedi and his delegation in New York.

Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in Limete was marked by the sadness of Udps fighters who remember their companions innocently killed for calling for respect for the Constitution during the horrendous events that occurred in the clashes recorded on the night of 19-20 September 2016.

On behalf of the Secretary General, Jean-Marc Kabund has Kabund absent for service, the UDPS Acting Secretary General, Eteni Longondo, urged the august assembly to observe a minute of silence in memory of all the illustrious disappeared .

In addition, he reminded the elite of the party, the outline of the tragic death of the Sphinx, the lider maximo, Etienne Tshisekedi, the unavoidable Opposite as well as all the adventures to which his funerals are confronted.

He also took the opportunity to talk about the disappearance of the men and women who are honored. He urged them that “the death of militants is only a fortification in terms of the supreme sacrifice that all fighters must incarnate in order to save the Congo.”

Turning to the issue of political issues of the day, ETENI LONGONDO has regimented the position of the Udps, a member of the Rally of Political and Social Forces that has been made to change, to be out of any attempt to rhyme with the prospect of a third dialogue, apparently aimed at managing the transition in the DRC. “Dialogue is not the effective remedy for the crisis. The Agreement of 31 December must be respected by all parties. We want the elections before the end of 2017. That’s what matters most, “he said forcefully.
